Background and Motivation

It was during training for my first marathon in NYC in 2007 when I was ‘prescribed’ Pilates by a physio for a knee injury. I got hooked pretty quickly. Pilates, more than anything else, improved my overall strength and running form.

I’ve been working in the fitness industry for over 15 years. I’ve taught group exercise, dance and Pilates classes at various Pilates studios, gyms, leisure facilities and dance studios. I’ve also worked with local authorities and schools to deliver outreach workshops and projects in education and community settings.

I'm passionate about the benefits of Pilates for everyone and love to see how good movement can positively impact a person physically and, no less importantly, mentally. The driver for my business is to give everyone the chance to have:

  • quality of movement

  • the chance to breathe

  • an opportunity for connection with others

Pilates Training and Qualifications

In 2013, I did an intensive one-to-one teacher training with Pilates trainer (and published authority figure on the Pilates Method), Ellie Herman, at her studio in Brooklyn, NY. I completed the Level 3 Matwork certification when I returned home to the UK.

I’ve since specialised further with courses in Body Control Pilates and Balanced Body in Reformer Pilates, and pre and post-natal qualifications.
